Here's his comment for a quick reference: #LASTFM SCROBBLER WINDOWS HOW TO#Hans-Jurgen gave a tutorial on how to fix the issue in the comments. It's possible you have two desktop scrobbling programs running at the same time, hence why you get the "already running" popup. This second topic seems maybe more likely in your situation. This first topic explains how to move the Last.fm shortcut to another folder and then rebooting your computer. I did some digging on the GetSat forum, and there are two topics that stuck out to me: If you want to give me any tips, please know that I am blind and I use screen reading software to access my computer. All I want is to just listen to my music and have it scrobble to my Last.fm profile! Is that too much to ask? Imo this company and their website/software have really taken a big tumble backwards! What is the deal!? I have uninstalled and re-installed this thing over and over with the same result. I can't find it in the notification chevron, or whatever that place is, and I don't see it in the Task Manager. But now, when I install the application, it works fine once I select to use the Windows Media Player plugin, but if I turn off my computer for the night, the next time I start the computer, I get a message saying, "The desktop scrobbler is already running," which usually means it isn't. I dealt with that for about a year or something. Okay, I'm getting very tired of all these problems! I remember a few years ago when I was trying to set up an updated version of the scrobbler, and it got stuck at the "we're waiting for you to connect." prompt.
